Holistic Human Excellence in Shipping: Assessment- Empowerment- Wellness

The project is inaugurated on

Tuesday 28th of January 2020

with one-day-workshop

“Key Behavioural Competencies in Shipboard Management”

held at QMS premises 26, Akti Poseidonos, 185 31 Piraeus at 09:00-16.00

The workshop is designed to meet the requirements of TMSA 3 and OCIMF- INTERTANKO joint initiative guiding tool “Behavioural Competency Assessment and Verification for Vessel Operators”. The training material is focused on the development of key soft skills required in shipboard management that enhance safety and further reduce incident rates. It provides both educational and practical guidance for those committed to the empowerment and assessment of soft skills competency along with the assessment of technical skills during routine vessel operations of seafarers on board. This includes Shipboard Officers, Operational Ship Managers & Superintendents, HSQE & vetting managers, Instructors and everyone who is interested to develop key soft skills for personal and professional development.

Under this dynamic scheme, K.C. Lyrintzis Group-QMS and Potentia have joined forces demonstrating their commitment to emerge the value of the human capital serving the maritime cluster of Greek Shipping and to promote the aspiration of Human Excellence by applying a holistic approach in Training standards. QMS-Potentia project comprises 3 systems embodying 12 Workshops aiming to raise awareness, to provide education and training on soft skills development, human behavior scientific assessment and workplace wellness. The two main goals of the project are:

  • to transform the maritime cluster to an integrated and dynamic system managed by competent people, and
  • to lead Greek Shipping to the highest performance of excellence
